On Thursday 9 March GRAMS held a Kidney Health Day at the Geraldton clinic for World Kidney Day. We had the Midwest Regional Renal Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) team helping us highlight the importance of taking care of your kidneys and getting them checked regularly by a doctor.
GRAMS Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Social and Emotional Wellbeing team, Suicide Prevention Coordinator, Health Promotion Officer and Social Support Officer all attended the 6th National Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Forum in Perth from the 27 February to 3 March 2023.
GRAMS Social Emotional and Wellbeing (SEWB) team attended Champion Bay Senior High School’s Mental Health Expo on Wednesday 22 February. The aim of the Expo was to highlight the importance of mental health and introduce students to local services. Over 14 local services attended, providing activities to students that promote good mental health.

Last Friday 17 February GRAMS Social & Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) team had a stall set up at the Rocks Laneway for Ochre Ribbon Week. Organisations from around Geraldton came together to raise awareness of the impacts of domestic and family violence.
This week is Sexual Health Week! To raise awareness GRAMS set up a display at the Geraldton clinic for Valentine’s Day on Tuesday 14 February.

The Geraldton Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) team has teamed up with Sky Box Studio to deliver a four-week boxing program for the Deadly Sista Girlz from Champion Bay Senior High School.

Last Tuesday 30th September, David Batty (Suicide Prevention CLO) from GRAMS facilitated a Red Dust Healing workshop with seven employees from AVIVO Geraldton. AVIVO provides care services for people who need support due to disability, ageing or mental ill-health.
Last week, GRAMS hosted the annual NAIDOC Elders Luncheon at The Geraldton Multipurpose Centre. Celebrating NAIDOC Week with the members of our community is one of our yearly highlights. With a total of 74 people in attendance, the event had a variety of activities for the Elders to enjoy such as free haircuts, massages, gifts, raffles, and a delicious lunch.
GRAMS partnered with Desert Blue Connect, Radio Mama, Act Belong Commit, WA Police and the Shire of Morawa to deliver the 2022 Midwest NAIDOC event to celebrate the achievement, history, and rich culture of the First Nations people.

The National Best Practice Unit (NBPU) visited the GRAMS Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) team on the 21st of June to collaborate on TIS initiatives and the promotion of activities to reduce the prevalence of tobacco use.
GRAMS attended the Rangeway Primary School for the opening of NAIDOC 2022 to promote and educate the students on healthy eating and nutrition.
