On Thursday 9 March GRAMS held a Kidney Health Day at the Geraldton clinic for World Kidney Day. We had the Midwest Regional Renal Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) team helping us highlight the importance of taking care of your kidneys and getting them checked regularly by a doctor.

GRAMS Social Emotional and Wellbeing (SEWB) team attended Champion Bay Senior High School’s Mental Health Expo on Wednesday 22 February. The aim of the Expo was to highlight the importance of mental health and introduce students to local services. Over 14 local services attended, providing activities to students that promote good mental health.

Last Tuesday 30th September, David Batty (Suicide Prevention CLO) from GRAMS facilitated a Red Dust Healing workshop with seven employees from AVIVO Geraldton. AVIVO provides care services for people who need support due to disability, ageing or mental ill-health.

Last week, GRAMS hosted the annual NAIDOC Elders Luncheon at The Geraldton Multipurpose Centre. Celebrating NAIDOC Week with the members of our community is one of our yearly highlights. With a total of 74 people in attendance, the event had a variety of activities for the Elders to enjoy such as free haircuts, massages, gifts, raffles, and a delicious lunch.
