National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week is an annual event in Australia that celebrates the culture, history, and achievements of Aboriginal and Islander people. The week runs from the first Sunday of July until the following Sunday.

NAIDOC Week 2026

In 2026, the event is running from 5 - 12th of July. This year celebrates the 50th year anniversary of NAIDOC with the theme:

"50 Years of Deadly"

NAIDOC 2026 marks five powerful decades of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander strength, culture and leadership – honouring the past while looking ahead to the future shaped by community and the next generation. Read more about this year's theme here.
