Celebrating a healthy Father's Day

We recently celebrated Father’s Day at GRAMS to honour the dads, grandads, uncles and brothers at our Father’s Day event.

55 men joined us for the joyous event and participated in a range of events to celebrate the fathers and role models in our lives.

Visitors enjoyed a BBQ, raffles, stalls, haircuts, and health checks on the day, bringing men and families together and encouraging them to keep their health in check.

All the men were gifted with a men’s care pack and some even won vouchers, meat and vegetable packs, and camping cooking appliances through the raffle.

Aboriginal Health Practitioner, Timothy Silcock from the Men’s Health Team said the event was an opportunity to connect with the men in the community and bring attention to issues that affect men’s health.

“We want our dads to stay around for a long time so it’s important for them to get regular health checks to identify any issues that may come up,” said Mr Silcock.

“The Father’s Day event was an opportunity for us to engage with the men in our community and empower them to take control of their health.”

Our Men’s Health team run an ‘Eye’s On Men’s Health’ program every Monday from 9am – 3:30 pm to help men get back on track with their health. To make an appointment, call GRAMS on 9956 6555.
