In November 2023 a class action case was settled in the Western Australian courts on behalf of Indigenous Australians who worked in WA between 1936-1972. These Indigenous people were paid little to no wages for their work.

You are automatically a part of the class if you meet the below criteria:

  • Be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • between 11 December 1936 and 9 June 1972, you lived in Western Australia and worked at some time or had your property controlled in that period; 
  • OR representing a family member who fits the criteria but has since passed away.

You MUST register by 30th June 2024 to be a part of this settlement.
