Join GRAMS to Support WNTD

The GRAMS Barndi Yarraly Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) team are holding a range of community activities throughout May to celebrate World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) and raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco and vape use.

These events aim to encourage and support community members who are thinking about quitting, or who have already started their quit journey.

🏀 Basketball Tournament

Dates: 19–21 May 2026
Time: 3:30pm – 6:00pm
Location: GABA Geraldton Basketball Stadium

Join us for a community basketball tournament as part of World No Tobacco Day celebrations. Teams are encouraged to get involved and help promote positive health messages in a fun, supportive environment.

🛍 Shopping Centre Information Stalls

Dates: 5 May, 19 May & 26 May
Time: 8:00am – 3:00pm
Location: Northgate Shopping Centre

Visit our information stalls to learn more about the impacts of tobacco and vaping, and to access quit support and resources.

🍴 Community BBQ – Carnarvon & Shark Bay

Dates: 11–15 May
Time: 3:30pm – 5:30pm

Gwoonwardu Mia – Gascoyne Aboriginal Heritage & Cultural Centre, Carnarvon

A chance to come together, enjoy a free BBQ, and yarn with the TIS team about smoking and vape‑free lifestyles.

🌱 Clean Up Day

Date: 26 May
Time: 9:00am – 2:00pm
Location: Stow Gardens

Get involved in Clean Up Day and help care for community spaces while promoting healthy, smoke‑free environments.

🎥 Youth Video Skits

Dates: 25–29 May
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm
Location: TIS Building, 65 Chapman Road, Geraldton

Young people are invited to take part in creating video skits that share strong, positive messages around vaping and smoking.

🚭 World No Tobacco Day

Date: 31 May
Time: 4:00pm – 7:30pm

World No Tobacco Day is a time to reflect, support one another, and celebrate healthier choices. Whether you’re just starting to think about quitting or have already quit, keep going — your health is worth it.
