The National Best Practice Unit (NBPU) visited the GRAMS Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) team on the 21st of June to collaborate on TIS initiatives and the promotion of activities to reduce the prevalence of tobacco use.

The NBPU TIS is funded under the national Tackling Indigenous Smoking program, aimed at providing support tailored to organisations and community needs and reducing smoking as the most preventable cause of illness for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

Aunty Yvonne and Aunty Maxine from NBPU shared recent updates and resources with the GRAMS TIS team so they can better support the local community in reducing tobacco smoking and improving the wellbeing of the local community.

It was a pleasure to have the NBPU in Geraldton and meet with some of the GRAMS TIS team. We look forward to having them visit again.
