The Deadly Cru youth team were lucky enough to have Katiska Davis from the Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia here in Geraldton to run the Young Leaders Training program.
We had two training sessions with Katiska one with over 18’s and another one with some younger community members.
The training included Mental health, Drug and Alcohol, Healthy relationships, Sexual health, STI and BBV’s.
The purpose of the training was to train young people in the community to become leaders and inspire others around them to take up healthy behaviours and make better decisions in life.
Katiska has done a deadly job delivering the training and getting the young leaders to engage in the activities. The young leaders were pleased with their training and thankful for the knowledge they gained on these unspoken subjects.
