Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (GRAMS) invites you to nominate an outstanding individual for the Elder, Youth and Scholar of the Year Awards to be presented at the GRAMS NAIDOC Ball Saturday 7 November 2020 in the categories of:
Youth of the Year – 16 years and under 25 years of age
Elder of the Year – 60 years of age and over
Scholar of the Year – students and educators
The Awards provides an opportunity to reward and recognise Indigenous Australians that have made a noteworthy contribution this year in areas such as education, health, business, sport, arts, environment, voluntary service or any other areas that have improved the wellbeing of the community.
GRAMS Chief Executive Officer Deborah Woods said the Awards helps to celebrate the local heroes and the achievements of the First Nations people.
“The GRAMS Awards recognise those who have demonstrated an outstanding contribution to improve the lives of the Indigenous people in their communities and beyond,” she said.
“It is an opportunity to highlight the remarkable Elders, Youth and Scholars who have made a positive difference in our community and inspire us with their achievement.”
“Let us know who your local hero is this year.”
There are three awards to be nominated: Elder of the Year, Youth of the Year and Scholar of the Year.
To be eligible, nominees must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and reside at the City of Geraldton. Nominations close 5 November 2020.
