GRAMS Child Health Day

Past Event

Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (GRAMS) is offering parents and guardians of children aged between 0-5years the day to come in and ensure their children are in top health, during its Child Health Day’s.

The day includes a fun-filled line-up of activities and competitions for children to enjoy while having their health checked.

Children will receive potentially life-saving immunisations, as well as undergo a range of simple examinations such as ear, eye and speech checks.

GRAMS child health nurse Rebecca Davy said, it would be great for parents and guardians to bring their children along for immunisations and health checks.

“Immunisations can be literally life-saving,” Ms Davy said. “They are such an easy way to avoid many serious conditions.

“And by checking children’s overall health we can stay on top of any potential health problems early, reducing all sorts of complications later on.”

Ms Davy urged parents to take advantage of the free Child Health Day to ensure their kids were in top health and on track with development.

She said healthy children had the best chance of enjoying thriving futures.

“We can’t expect our kids to flourish if they’re not in good health,” she said.

“By doing simple health and development checks and ensuring they are up to date on their immunisations, we can give our kids every chance of bright, healthy and successful futures.”
